Ben was born 2/13 in the cold, cold, very cold Seattle, Washington. (Perhaps that's how Ben and Sheri became kindred spirits ... they are both from cold climates!). He grew up in the small farm-like town of Kent, WA. Though close to the colorful culture of Seattle, Ben did not venture out much while growing up (and he actually didn't grow up with many friends to venture out with).

Some odd memories Ben has growing up are of cow fields he would always pass by while walking to school. That's right. One-third of a mile of cows just watching Ben (and pooping) (the cows, not Ben) as Ben passed them by.

(Sounds like it could be the beginning of some wacky horror film).

Wanting to leave Washington State after high school, Ben arrived in California bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for college and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College. He has stayed in California ever since.

After a stay in Irvine, Ben moved out to West Los Angeles feeling that he was "too alternative for Orange County". He love life in West Los Angeles and really enjoyed going clubbing in West Hollywood at goth clubs, metal clubs, and gay clubs (because they played the best music!! 80's music ROCKS!!). Eventually Ben transitioned from goth clubs (mostly Stigmata and Helter Skelter) to swing dance clubs (mostly The Derby and Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association).

And it was at the Derby that he met a lovely young lady named Sheri
